The Metaball League was born from a conflict that arose among all the civilizations of the heliocentric system as solar energy began to deplete. After much discussion, leaders of each planet finally agreed on a novel approach: a new sport modeled on Earth's basketball.
Each match winner would earn Metanium for their planet, a newly discovered ore that could be used as a substitute for solar energy. This innovative solution not only quelled the conflict but also gave birth to a new era of strong but respectful competition among the civilizations.
